BHS-D aka The Square Wave Modifier! The last in the line of the BlackHatSound fuzz models and by far the most versatile.

A traditional two transistor fuzz with many tweaks and additions to bring out so much more from this humble circuit.

With controls for output, fuzz, bias, tone and mids, there are infinite tones at your disposal. The fuzz control stays bright and dynamic through its full range so you have so much more scope than with many traditional 2 transistor fuzz boxes. The mids and tone control are very interactive and used together cover an enormous amount of ground. From scratchy bosstone to fat singing almost muffy tones

Loaded with a pair of ME4003 'BlackHat' transistors. Surrounded by high quality new stock resistors and capacitors, all mounted on NOS strip board.

The pedal in the photo is my prototype and does have some drill holes and minor finish issues that will not be on the units for sale.

These are NOT powder coated, and so will mark more easily if handled roughly. They are painted with traditional solvent based paint and to that end will age and wear as years go by, in ten yours time ... it will look ten years old!

Centre negative 9v DC

I build these pedals in my garden workshop in Northamptonshire UK. I finish the entire pedal to a standard I think looks as good inside, as it sounds on the outside. It might be covered up but when you're in that moment you KNOW the mojo you have under the hood.

Please be aware, these are totally hand built, so there might me some slight cosmetic variation between each pedal. The gun metal finish is an oxidation process and will vary slightly in shade, and sometimes shows a pleasing uneven patina due the enclosures casting process. Your pedal will age gracefully, as parts of the case wear-polish, usually around the front corners.

Might be the most versatile fuzz ever? And it totally rips!

Completely blown away. Worth every penny and lives up to the hype. This thing will do really nice mid-forward Mk1 ish tones for blues, you can gate it with the voltage knob, and it’ll go all-out woofy with the gain maxed and both knobs set to the most bass-heavy extent. Plus the cleanup off the volume knob of your guitar is excellent too. The picture has my favorite settings.

Just for kicks, I goofed around with some Sleep riffs with an SG in C standard through a JCM800 and was getting AWESOME near-infinite sustain tones with the gain maxed. Just absolutely epic sounds from this thing.
